Greetings in Christ,
It is a pleasure to share with you some exciting developments in our Christian Education dept. We will be starting a Communicant’s class beginning this Sunday June 27 and it will continue for the next 6-8 weeks. The primary purpose of the class will be to explain what, why and how we believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. It will also explain the purpose and meaning of the church and the fundamental doctrines of the Reformed Faith. Our newest member Adam Ricci will be the first student and we are excited to announce that Rodney Horst will be the teacher. Rodney has always had a love for teaching young people and his enthusiasm and zeal for the Lord will be contagious. This class will prepare young Christians and new members to become better disciples and fulfill their particular calling in Christ.
The Knox Toddler class will be starting a study of the Shorter Catechism also beginning Sunday June 27. Our teacher Brenda Myers looks forward to planting the seeds of understanding and doctrine in these young hearts and minds. Brenda will also have material for mom & dad, so the instruction in the Shorter Catechism is not limited to the Sunday School hour on Sunday mornings. This will be a great learning opportunity for every young family!
Please continue to pray for Christian education at Knox. Pray that our classrooms will be filled with people of all ages. Especially pray that Ginny Bowie’s class will again have students to teach. Ginny has a unique ability to communicate God’s Word to children in this vital age group (6-12). Also, let’s not forget the Jr. & Senior High School class taught by Jim Rudkin. Let’s pray this class will be filled to overflowing to really test Jim’s patience and longsuffering!!
We are experiencing a definite move of the Spirit of God at Knox and it is a thrilling time to be here. Please come, tell others, and bring children & adults of all ages to study the Word of God at Knox.
Blessings always,
RE Dave Myers
