On Sunday, December 25, 2011 we will only meet for the morning worship service at 11:00 a.m. There will not be any Sunday school classes that day, nor will their be the fellowship meal that normally follows the worship service. All normal activities will resume on New Year’s Day 2012.
Please join us on the Lord’s Day as we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Please make plans to join us for our annual Lessons and Carols service on Saturday, December 24, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. The story of the fall of humanity, the promise of the Messiah, and the birth of Jesus is told in Bible readings from Genesis, the prophetic books and the Gospels, interspersed with the singing of Christmas carols, hymns and choir music. This service is a very special way to celebrate “the reason for the season.”
Communion will also be served at this service.
During the Christmas holidays we will not be meeting on Wednesday night for the December 21st and December 28th Bible study. We will resume regular Wednesday night activities on January 4th.
The young adults Bible study will meet again on Thursday May 5 at 7:00 pm @ the Church to continue a study in the book of Ecclesiastes. Come join us as we fellowship, pray, and study God’s Word.
The Young Adults Bible Study will be beginning a new study on the book of Ecclesiastes Thursday March 24 @ 7:00 at the church. Grab your Bible and join us as we study God’s Word and fellowship with one another. The class will meet every other Thursday unless announced otherwise. If you have any questions see Deacon Tim Myers before or after service or call him @ 814-8286 or e-mail him @ tjm3383@verizon.net. We hope to see you there!

Effective October 24, 2010 the Sunday schedule of events will change. At the conclusion of the 11:00 a.m. worship and communion service there will be an opportunity to share a meal together at the church. This is a voluntary item. The meal is whatever you decide to bring for yourself and your family, it will not be furnished by the church. So, if you want a PB&J sandwich and chips in a brown bag – bring it. If you want a bucket of chicken – bring it. If you want to run down to 5 Guys for a burger and fries – bring it back. The meal and fellowship will be followed at 2:00 p.m. by the prayer and Bible study that was occuring at 6:00 p.m.
The Session feels that this change of schedule is beneficial on multiple levels:
- Obviously, Christian fellowship over a meal is a great time, especially with all the good cooks at Knox
- It will give the members a way to get to know our guests better
- It is cheaper than going out to eat every week and coordinating who’s coming, where to meet, and when
- Because the distances our members travel to get here – it is hard to get motivated to come back, especially after a very restful Sabbath nap
- What better way to spend the majority of Lord’s day, than with His people at His church?
The 2:00 p.m. study should wrap up by 3:30 p.m.
We will begin a new study in Galatians for our Wednesday Night Bible Study on September 15th. In Galatians, Paul vigorously defends the Gospel of Grae. In this day of confusion on this vital topic, our study will prove to be most edifying.
The Christian Singles / Young Adult Bible study now will be meeting every other Thursday, at 7:00 pm at the Church. Tim Myers is leading the study, which currently is a series on “Ephesians: Building a Community in Christ” by John Stott.
The next meeting will be held on Thursday, September 2.
Please join us and invite your friends for prayer, Bible study, discussion, and Christian fellowship.
